A 12-BORE 1887 PATENT ROUND-ACTION TRIGGERPLATE-ACTION EJECTOR, serial no. 5235,
for 1900, 30in. fine damascus nitro barrels, the rib re-engraved 'JOHN DICKSON & SON, 63, PRINCES STREET, EDINBURGH' and '1' at the breech end, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. and 1/4 choke, Dickson patent round-action incorporating patents 9399 and 10621 of 1887, use number 832, the toplever engraved '1', automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, profusely engraved with bold acanthus scrollwork and with scrolling banners engraved 'JOHN DICKSON & SON PATENT' to the sides, 15in. highly-figured replacement stock, the fore-end wood inset with a silver '1', weight 6lb. 5oz.

Provenance: The makers records list the gun as having 30in. barrels, No.1 of a pair, sold on 8th August 1900
